Aalborg OL
The Alfa Laval Aalborg OL is a large-capacity, fired marine boiler for producing large amounts of steam or hot water. Available in two design pressures, it has a top-fired design that maximizes heat transfer and minimizes pressure loss. Ready for the fuel transition, the OL can use oils, biofuels and one alternative fuel of your choice. Additionally, it can be configured as an electric hybrid. These options can be implemented directly, or the boiler can be prepared for their installation later.
Large-capacity fired boiler with multi-fuel and hybrid options
- Produce 12,500–45,000 kg/h of steam or hot water with high fuel efficiency
- Safely manage boil-off gas while producing 10,000–55,000 kg/h of steam
- Rely on trouble-free uptime, secured through robust design and user-friendly control
- Advance decarbonization by configuring for your choice of alternative fuels
- Take advantage of shore power or surplus electricity on board through hybrid operation
The Aalborg OL is a future-proof choice that lets you transition to LNG, methanol or ammonia – whenever the time is right for you. Hybrid and hybrid-ready options add to its flexible configuration, along with the choice of 9 or 18 bar(g) design pressure.
Like all Alfa Laval Aalborg marine boilers, the Aalborg OL draws on over 100 years of experience with boilers, burners and thermal applications on board. At the same time, it comes prepared for the future. This large-capacity boiler is ready for any marine fuel in current use or under discussion, including LNG and methanol.
